Yes you can't ever rule out pests ....I think it is unlikely as I have not added any montipora for a couple of years. I did have nudibranch on an old tank and it was a very slow tissue necrosis. This is unbelievabley fast. ...the colony is already two thirds gone. The only thing in my testing that I picked up was pottasium at 380 but that is not really low. I expect I will do a water change and carbon again.
On the plus side I can stick a deep water acropora there.

May I ask how long did you allow your tank to cycle before introducing first sps ?

Hi thanks for leaving a nice comment. I broke my old tank down and started with frags but I had 200 litres of old water. Starting from scratch I would say 3 months or so before adding acropora earlier for stylophora and montipora imo.
