Hi everyone,
I have a 36g glass Aqueon tank that's freshwater now and will be converted to saltwater in the near future. It has standard flourescent lights. My question is this. I'm planning on starting with fowlr to give the tank a chance to settle in a while before I start with coral. It's my understanding that corals don't necessarily like new tanks so I wanted to let the tank stabilize for at least several months. My question is do I need to buy new lights now or would it be ok to keep the standard flourescent bulb if it's only live rock. Would the coralline grow? I know I'll need a protein skimmer when I start. If I could wait on the lights I could save up for some nice LEDs. I'm interested in everyone's opinion!
