Hey guys check out this amazing build that my friends, friend is doing. It's a nice 370gallon reef tank. The measurements are 96"x32"x28" LxWxH. There is also a sump that is 120g. The stand was made from 1.5" thick engineers wood.

Who ever made the sump had a great idea on the filter sock chamber. They main owner apparently wanted a filter sock holder that was removable and also be able to switch the filter sock plates to accommodate 2 different types of filter sock.

Aquascape?

So the finished tank looked fantastic! The next stage was the aquascape :S. Although I have no clue how my friend got that into the tank but everything was starting to come alive :) They placed egg crate at the bottom to keep the rocks from shifting which I thought was a brilliant idea. They also used crushed coral gravel as a sand bed instead of using regular white sand. In my opinion, when going for a large system like this, the water pumps and wave makers just put out soo much flow that regular sand would be shifting all over the place. Looking at the aquascape it has a more open concept and the plan was that he wanted to have more open spot to let corals grow out in the future.

The final product! :D

So here we go. From what I now last is that there was a digital backdrop that the friend had on his desktop and wanted the same image on the back of his aquarium. At first when I seen the image I was not to ecstatic about it. I kinda thought it looked cheap and that a regular black background was so much better then that!

Never the less, I was wrong again! They installed a 10 bulb T5 lighting on it and WOW!!!!!!. The image gave it a really nice 3D depth to the tank that just left my eye's glued to the tank! I preferred to just look at the tank without water in it! lol. But enough talking I'm sure you want to have a look at the tank.... Scroll down :P

Breathtaking tank and setup. Love your attention to aesthetics and functionality. I'm building a 300g within the next 6 months and will certainly follow your thread. Keep on sharing :-)

Thank you very much. Wow your first 300g :) Very exciting. Yea I know that there is a lot of planing of each detail before making a 300g. I believe that there are videos on youtube of this build at Primo Reef Acrylics youtube channel. I follow them and Seen this build. EYE CANDY! :P

amazing set up! This would be a dream set up for me with the plumbing and sump and everything

Nice setup , love that sump!

I am currently moving my 80G reef to my new home hope I finish soon

keep the tread going will love to see this one finished

cheers

wow insane built!!!
can`t wait to see it with corals and fishes!!!

Congratz!

Thanks Abraham, There's still lots of work left and another 300lb to 400lbs of rock work to do. I guess the client will have to put on some swimming gear to place those rocks once it's filled with water :P
