38g Bow Front

Setting up the 38g. The pics are from 12 hours ago when adding live sand and some live rock and then this morning. I plan on taking the rock from my nano and adding it here as well along with fish and corals.
I am running a canister filter on this tank. My tank from years ago ran like this and I had really good success with it.

Just going to let this run for a while and do its thing. Then I will add lights, etc.

Very nice! You could paint the back or add a film to hide your hoses. Since there’s already water in the tank so I’d suggest using a film, which you can get at most aquarium stores.

So some of the live rock I got was from a friend. It is 15 years old but I notice it has a little bit of hair algae on it. Is this going to become a (bigger) problem once I turn the lights on and the tank is ready?

I moved everything over to the new tank yesterday. The clowns do not seem happy and I'm not sure how I feel about it either. I think a bowfront is too tall for saltwater. I can't find my goby. I got him out of the old tank, put him in the bucket with the rock, acclimated it, put the rock in the new tank, and when everything was done, no goby! I searched high and low, floor, everywhere and I cannot find it anywhere!! I also have some of what you can describe as light snow going on in the tank.
I have the light set at 65 blue and 25 white, not a fan of the light setting. Most of the coral seems to be doing good.
It's funny, my little nano was so full and bright and everything in the new tank almost look so much smaller. However, I am happy the fish have more room although I don't think they care as they are still just hanging out in the top corner.

Easy - flow, lighting, aquacultered vs maricultured, aggression, etc. Just like dogs, one coral can be more agressive than another of the same type. I've read plenty of reports of Gonis killing Gonis, torches killing torches, etc. Favias are a touchy subject if that's what you're referring too as there are so many varieties of Favias and some look so similar but will kill each other if they touch. Maricultured Gonis and euphyllia are usually significantly less hardy than their aquacultered counterparts. Two Gonis placed in the same tank, 1 gets a bacterial infection and died over night, the other lives for 30 years and provides lots of frags. Euphyllia love flow but some love it less than others so too much flow for one and not enough for the other. If they're from a different tank with different parameters (some vendors keep multiple tanks as separate systems so they only lose one of something happens) one can be perfectly suited for your tank while the other gets a huge pH or alk swing when you add it to your tank and RTN/STN/BJD... See? Easy.

I love bow fronts, but not with SW. It's too tall for what I want/need.

Then a 75 is too tall too? it's the same footprint as a 60.

The 70 is. The 75 is the same footprint as the 65. @ktfloyd01 go with a 120 or a 125. I went from a 5 to a 75 to a 125 and it's probably still too small... 120 is a cool footprint. @Mschmidt just picked one up (or was it 2?).

I got a 5 foot 120. I like the standard dimensions better. I didn't get the standard dimension one.

I guess I am nervous about going bigger because I just don't know enough, about plumbing it, sumps, etc. I have a 75 fresh water - which I hate and would love to convert that one but again, I just don't know enough. I am totally clueless.

Neither do I. But I'm learning a lot and quickly. You could remortgage the house and get a kit like red sea. That crossed my mind.
