3D Printing ABS - Acetone Vapor Smoothing

Hi all,

I have been 3D Printing using ABS filament as it is considered reef safe however I wanted to look into acetone smoothing.
What is acetone vapor smoothing?
"The process completely eliminates any visible layer lines and gives you a clean and smooth surface finish, thus making your 3D printed part look more like an injection-molded object"

I will obviously plan to soak the prints in RO water for several days before using it in my tank but do you think this would have any negative affects considering it is only exposing to acetone for a few minutes?

I have no idea, I would be inclined to think given a proper rinse and appropriate time to off gas, that it would be fine but that's totally conjecture. Following along to see if anyone else has more information. I just got my 3d printer running and am going to be starting printing in ABS and PETG for some aquarium gadgets soon .
