Hi, I'm looking to buy something made of polymaker polylite ABS. Anyone ever use this? Thanks

Sorry, I cannot attest to experience with that material, but I have heard good things about PETG (Polyethylene terephthalate glycol) and have an item in my tank made with this. My brother owns a 3D printer and recommended using PETG since it is FDA-approved food-safe and was only slightly more expensive than ABS.

I think I have read on threads on R2R from others that 3D-print for reefs and use PETG.

Sorry this does not directly answer your question, but I hope it can help with another material consideration.

Thanks...I'm purchasing this from someone and this is what he makes it from

Yes, I noticed that and was not sure if PETG recommendation was any help.
Are you buying a finished product or does the seller 3D-print the object in question?

I have researched ABS for 3D-printing, and I believe ABS to also be reef-safe.

If it is an option, I think PETG is better since it is approved food-safe. It is slightly more expensive (and will be more expensive if the maker has to buy it for your special order).

Otherwise, ABS is generally considered reef-safe, though I cannot answer to the specific polymer. People have used ABS in reefs for years. I believe it is one of the most common materials for the floor in bare-bottom aquariums.

Thanks! He's going to use hatchback ABS which I've seen used
