3D Printing thread

The bottom of the mount is almost 20mm from the bottom. The sensor wire has to make a fairly sharp turn but as long as it's not repetitive, it is OK.

I haven't seen a suction cup design. I avoid suction cups at all cost, they just annoy me.

I made it wide and fairly thick so the base and weight keep it pretty stable while still free to move around without getting your hands wet.

What brand filament is that? Link? Might like more than my gold

This one is Amazon Basics PETG yellow.

Only one of the three yellow petg I have tested that didn't kill anything in the invert test tank.

Hi ladies and gentlemen, this is just a friendly reminder that 3D printed items may be talked about and designs shared here, but they may not be sold here per our selling forum rules. Please do not ask about items being for sale, and please do not sell them here in the thread or via pm. We love to see these designs shared among you guys, but selling them is considered commercial and is not permitted without a sponsor account.

This has been a simple reminder, now back to your regularly scheduled programming. :D

Its PLA- gold from amazon. Oddly it is not showing up in my amazon history, so when I get home I will take a photo of the roll :).

Printing some random storage at .2mm layers, and this stuff looks injection molded

I bow before you and your profile. I one day will strive to have such uniform layers.

are you interested in making one and selling it. I would like to buy one. I can pay with Paypal or chase quick pay?

It's not legal to sell models like that one, because I am not the original designer, I just hacked up someone else's model, who stated "no commercial use".

So is amazon a sponsor here, because I see all kinds of Amazon links? Or is it you are unable to sell directly unless you are a partner?

Do not make me buy another printer.
i literally just broke down and ordered a MK3S yesterday. I have been wanting to try one out for so long, and my current printer has been broken for a month and I'm waiting on parts. Of course, the only reason I went with the assembled MK3S was because I now get 10% off any future printer purchases... ugh

Jeeze I didn’t know that about the 10%... would have definitely been better off doing that from the beginning given I hope I’ll end up with 2 or 3 :(.

Was a learning experience though. It’s nice to know every single part... and every single part that can go wrong xD

Yeah, I missed that part when I had to figure out how to remove the hotend when I had a meltdown. The video makergear had up didnt match the new mod 1 design and I was going bonkers.

Yeah, the website says you get a 10% discount on filament and printers on an assembled unit so while I don’t have a discount code yet I think I’ll prpbably end up using it at some point.

I would have preferred to assemble it myself, to be honest. It would have been fun. Plus shipping is cheaper. But the 10% code made more sense to me long term. Plus they change up the warranty a bit on assembled printers. It’s seemingly very gray, but with my location, the more warranty, the better

I have to start back over at page 1 :( I've been looking through the thread to find a decent printer to start with that can make usable stuff (no idea what that would even be yet :) ) but there are a lot of diff brands you lads and lasses are tossing out. Not to mention upgrades!!!

Reviews on Amazon are also interesting that is why I keep coming back here. Some of you I know are making commercial / retail products (not that is what I'm after) so figured this is the source to remove the noise. Nice thread though but back to page one I go :)

Made a new COR strainer today. Took awhile to print, but it works. I now have 2 of them running on my COR 20's

From the thingiverse description:

The original strainer is great, but a complete nightmare to print with supports.

This tries to solve that, in addition, I replaced the 1" inlet, with a 1.5" BSPP thread. Now the strainer simply screws onto the pump, and you are done.

I printed mine in PETG, 100% infill. Supports touching the build plate. If you enable normal supports, it's impossible to get extracted. Additionally, I had to turn my retractions way down, or the extruder would break my filament with all the retractions on this thing. Print it screw side down.

I also included a mod_1 version, which doesn't have the BSPP threads, and just has a ring that fits over the COR input. In case you want that.

(This is based on the wonderful model: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2838063 )

That is cool. I'm guessing would also work on a Cor 15? I've been looking for something like this though I do not own a printer. This is something I could see me trying to make!
