Hey all, I recently picked up an Aqua One Aquacyl 12 from my work lunchroom and thought I might set it up as a saltwater tank.

Everything is currently stock in it and I was wondering if anyone has any ideas on ways to upgrade it without completely scrapping the tank itself.

My plans for it are a little pistol shrimp I have had living in a 0.6G photography field tank with a 4 little gobies I caught. Maybe some xenia or similar as the coral life?
I also have a Banded Flap Head Goby that hasn't grown in my other tank and unless it lives it's entire life in a box will get eaten in any other tank.

Sand I think will be the Caribsea Hawiian Black.

I will have some marine pure in with the rockwork to bulk up the biofiltration with maybe just sponges and/or some ceramic noodles in the hood of the tank.

The current issue I am facing is that the light and filter connect to one power plug thus meaning I can't set up the light on a timer. Would that be changable? It's just a little LED strip which I would like to switch out for different coloured LEDs.

I am Rory by the way :)
Any thoughts and imputs are always welcome!

So something happened the other day with the tank and only the pistol shrimp died :/ I was thinking maybe a bad shed?
I got a new one in the live rock at work today along with some other little critters, and started up the Aquacyl!

I added 3 Vanderbuilts Chromis to have some movement until I figure out what to do with them [emoji14] (they were given to me as problem fish)
