For a while all my fish were doing well. Then all of a sudden I realize my carpenter's wrasse looked skinny and was hiding more. It would still eat when I squirted food in its direction, but it had lost its "confidence" and seemed jumpy around the other fish when eating. This fish was one of the smaller fish in the tank. I have not seen it since and this is weeks ago. I assume it has died. I had it for 4-6 months
A few weeks ago my leopard wrasse went through the exact same thing and died a few days later. I had two and the other is still totally fine and eats like a pig. I've had them since January.
Now I noticed the other day my Tailspot Blenny, being very skinny (usually his belly is huge). This fish does get chased after by my Tomini Tang and so him being a bit shy is not as much of a mystery, but it did not seem to bother him at first.
I have not noticed any outward signs that strike me as strange other than the fish being all of a sudden very skinny. I have not seen white stringy poop, but I haven't seen them poop...
I feed Hikary Mysis and Brine or PE Calanus, a little seaweed once in a while too.
Any thoughts? I'd be happy to provide more information as well. Another random death was my cleaner shrimp who just seemed to die out of the blue. I had been dosing peroxide (1mL/10 Gal.), but that had been weeks before. Also did a chemiclean treatment, but that was done a few weeks before the cleaner shrimp's death.
