Hi All,

Can someone recommend a sub mat material that I should use to set my new 3XL 900 Reefer stand and tank on? the floors are hardwood and I want time to wipe up and avoid water seepage. Also, I would like to avoid indentations. This is a finished living area display tank (piping will extend through the floor to the fish room directly below the DT). Thanks for any help.

It's allot of weight and the stand has probably 20-30 feet to spread the load. The only way to avoid your hardwood floor getting indents is to add another hard wood, metal or stone under the feet. Perhaps you could cut strips of Maple, aluminum or get some granite tiles and put them under it and them level the stand on top of those.

Another option if you own the home is to remove the wood in that area and lay down ceramic or stone flooring. Easy to clean.

You can use some plastic floor mat if you are doing to do any work on the tank to protect the floor. But since the sump is going to the lower level I wouldn't worry about a permanent plastic to protect the floors.

Just an added bit of advice, make sure the structure can handle the weight. The floor joists might need reinforcement.
