Hi.
Week three of the display tank start-up. Things are going well, knocked out a few aiptasia, got some nice fan worms thingys, but a bit puzzled about this. I’ve looked through the sticky and can’t see anything that matches. It’s underneath a rock arch, very much in the shade. Anyone any ideas?
Seems to have 3 large, one small arm. Doesn’t move much. Bristlestar touched it and nothing happened.

Thanks.

Any guesses to which type? I’ll keep an eye on it to see what the progression is.
I am not going to guess except to assume that it is probably not anything that you will want long term but with time the tank will progress and it will be gone

Interestingly, it has disappeared. So it’s either some sort of animal, or algae that’s been mowed down by some CUC.

It appeared again. So it must be an animal of some type?

strange! I might guess a type of amphipod. @ISpeakForTheSeas might have a guess?
I'm not sure in this case - it seems to have more than four limbs now, though, and I'm seeing a separate limb next to it in the new pic.

My best guess would be either some sort of coral or anemone, but I really don't know here.

It received a good poking and retracted. 30 mins later came back out.
I continue to watch!
