Hello. I'm new to this forum so this will also be my introduction as well. In short, i work for a large box store. Im fortunate enough to run the aquatics department in one of their aquatics focused stores. Even more so to have the opportunity to offer coral to my saltwater clientele. My frag tank is 36"x 18"x 12". I think. Im going measure everything tomorrow realizing just now i don't know specific measurements. I have a 4 bulb T5 fixture. Here's the part throwing me off. It's about 30" off the water. All of my personal tanks threw the years have had the fixture much closer to the water. I can not adjust the hight of the fixture. Ill post the specific name of the bulbs we use. Also somthing i can not change. Unless i personally pay for it. But for now i have access to a blue, a purple, and a 10,000k white. Im looking for suggestions on the combination that promotes health and best color. Slower growth is ok. Although i personally don't feel a healthy coral isn't growing. Im just not looking for explosive growth. Health is always important. But i really want to show my customers the corals color at its best. An suggestions???

Probably going to need to experiment yourself, nobody’s going to be able to tell you what combo of bulbs without knowing the manufacturer and even then it’s personal preference ;).

A 4 bulb t5 fixture 30” over the water is not going to provide enough par to promote any growth in most corals but should keep stuff alive until you sell it.
