I made my own sump from a 40 breeder and cut holes for filter socks based on the original set I had. The original set has about 1/4" of wiggle room in the holes. When i tried finding replacements, they are also clearly 4" filter socks... but can't quite be wedged into the holes. Apparently there is some discrepancy in filter sock sizes... has anyone noticed this and maybe could recommend brands that fit a little smaller?

Our standard flanges fit 3-3/4" inch bores. We also sell a custom 3-1/2" version on our website. Follow the link below for more info and let me know if you have any questions.

I measured and the bores are 3-1/2" so that would be perfect. do they use the same filter elements as the 3-3/4's?
