I have a shipment of 2 wrasses and 2 tangs coming tomorrow morning. Ideally I would want to acclimate then add them after the lights are out, but my lights and fishes don't go to sleep mode until 8pm. Would you unbag them all into 1 bucket, drip acclimate for 30 min, and introduce them right away in the morning?

Float for 20-30 minutes
Transfer fish and water into a clean bucket or tub with aeration

Then . . . .

Add a cup of tank water to bucket every 15 mins 6-8 times (almost 2 hours)
Then check salinity in bucket and compare to tank. If no match or very close, add a cup of water every few mins until youve reached salinity and trap fish in same cup and pour off water and release into display. Release under LOW light before lights out.

Unfortunately the package has not arrived. It's 3pm and UPS tracking shows it has not even arrived to my State. It's overnight shipping and supposed to be delivered by noon. I have alerted the seller. I doubt anything will survive if they are not delivered by end of day today. :(

That sucks. I hope they'll make it.
One of my coral suppliers has suspended shipping because of all the delays with UPS/FEDEX. He's only doing local deliveries for the next month or two.

Did they arrive?
They did this morning at 9am.. effectively 2 nights shipping... 1 out of 4 fishes DOA. I drip acclimated with aeration the remaining 3 fishes for about 30min, tested temp and salinity to make sure they're in check, and released. They were very fragile, could barely swim, and now they're looking better but still refusing to eat. If they continue to refuse to eat tomorrow I don't think they can make it. :(

That long in transit, the bags will have lots of ammonia built up.

I would not drip acclimate. The aeration actually will hurt too, as it drives off the CO2 making the ammonia more toxic.

Wow i didn’t know. So just float the bag to temp and release? How about salinity if thats not the same as my tank?

Float for 20-30minutes.
Open bag.
Dump water in bucket.
Put fish in tank.
Done.
Don't add the water to your tank. All I got.

D
I mean the fishes were really fragile for being in the bag 2 nights. Would doing what you said shock it to death with different tank temp and salinity?

Went through exact same thing last week with Fedex. 4 out of 6 survived and began eating within two to three days. Hang in there and monitor ammonia.
