Hi I am thinking of making a 4 foot air lift skimmer out of a 8 ft tube its about 2 in wide would I need a power head for the bubbles to reach the top? 92g corner tank 10g sump

Do you have a drawing of this skimmer design? Any reason to not go with a shorter and wider tube?

I think @Paul B has a DIY tall skimmer. Maybe he can add something to this conversation.

Figured 4 ft was a good number and its $5 for 8ft I have a air pump with the wood block. Need a skimmer my other is out of comission

My experience with wood block skimmers is that you'll need a very expensive high volume air pump to run it. You can't do it with a ten dollar air pump!

What type of wood is the wood block made of? Limewood is the best for producing the micro bubbles your looking for.

This is the air pump I have its rated for 100g and has control nob so I can dial it in. Yes its lime wood
