Hello all!

My experiment using MP40s came to an end when it just produced too much flow even at 20% in my shallow reef. I have finally fully switched over to 4 MP10s.

I have a mixed reef but also have a magnifica.

Does anyone have experience with using 4 VorTechs? Especially on a more “shallow” tank?

My current arrangement is two on the left and two on the right. They are all running reefcrest. One on the left is synced to the other on the left, and the two on the right are anti-synced to the left.

Just trying to determine if there is something more optimal with 4 of them.

These are controlled via my Apex

Hello,

Wow, sounds like a cool setup as is. If everything is working I would say leave it. If you think there is room for improvement can’t hurt to experiment carefully. I would want to try a modified version of what ecotech has on their guide for tidal. I would get 2 on one pane. One high and one low, just offset so not directly above one another. The opposite pane I would put the other middle. The 4the on the back wall.

I don’t run apex so I am not sure how to program them, but my thought would be to simulate sort of an ebb and flow. If possible the 2 on first glass be the wave coming in, then the single can be the tide rolling out, the back would your Gulf Stream . Maybe tidal on sides and crest on the back. Just kinda trying to visualize my description if that makes sense
