So I had my 40 crash due to a faulty heater, RKL, or a dosing pump. I lost almost all my coral and inverts and one fish. I decided it was time to start over basically. I've do e a bunch of water changes since and reflected a lot. I came to a conclusion that the best growth I got was with a halide t5 combAnton not to rely on technology. I have a new RKL and sold my AI lights. They were sweet but I think the tech has to improve a bit for my liking. I will eventually go led again. So I am starting this thread because I just want to start over completely.
Tank: AGA 40 breeder(Petco $1 sale) bottom drilled w/custom overflow
Lighting: 250 mh w/ 4 actinic t5 and moon lights
Flow: MP10 and mag7 return
Filtration: Bubble Magnus NAC3 in a cadlights sump cheato and 5-10 lbs rock in sump. BRS reactor w/ rox carbon and gfo
Heating: controlled by new RKL and 100 w heater
Ca and Alk: 2 BRS doser
So the plan is to keep it as simple as I can. Stock more LPS than SPS and keep the tank open for a lot of swimming room.
So here is a junky pic but I will get so e better ones tonight if I can. By the way I'm waiting for a Phoenix 14k bulb to get here so the lighting right now is an old t5 fixture I had. Bulb should be here Wednesday.
