I am looking into moving from nano tanks to a 40 breeder aquarium, and I am trying to figure out a rough cost estimate before I jump into anything. I have quite a few of the supplies already. I plan on adding a 20 gallon sump to the tank. What I currently own includes:

Lighting:
AI prime HD
Ecotech Radion xr30
Fluval plant light - for refugium

Waterflow:
MP-10
Korelia 425
Korelia 240

Sand and dry rock

Tanks for ATO reservoir and sump

Equipment needed:
40 gallon tank
Protein skimmer
Return pump
Overflow box

What is obviously missing from this list? Is there any specific brand of equipment I should be looking for? I am going for a midrange setup.

Any advice would be appreciated!

i like spectrapure atos, bubble magus skimmers and sicce pumps. and keep in mind that a 40g is still considered nano. :)

I consider a 40 to be huge lol

The largest tank I have running is a 20 high, but I'm hoping to upgrade my system soon

I am also working on a 40 breeder setup!
I use a Bubble Magus BM-Curve 5 skimmer, Syncra Silent 3.0 Pump (rated for 714 GPH) with a Eclipse M Overflow Box (rated for 800 GPH).
All are working out great! I think all are quality pieces of equipment without breaking the bank!
