The buck a gallon sale came and went this year and so did 60 bucks. Picked up a 40 breeder and a 20 long for my sump. Just finished my diy stand just can't wait to see it up and running hopefully soon.

Here is the stand and the dog that helped.

Looks awesome great work on the stand. Welcome to the 40b club lol nice size tanks. Also welcome to R2R.

What sand would you go with. I'm going to be running two jebao rw-4 and planning on keeping a Dimond goby

We used sand that we got with a setup so not sure what exactly it is. It's a medium sized grain. Worked good with a pink spot goby sifting it.

I will be adding sand. I am going to be curing the rock in the tank like this for 2 moths. And as for as sand choice I might be going with ocean derect original grade. But still to be determined

Got the light hung up planning on getting a second one for even coverage. And currently added two false percula, two maroons and two firefish all healthy and eating frozen food with garlic extract.

The aquascape is awsome!
I would take back one of the two species of clown. If it were me it would be the maroons. Multiple species of clowns just don't work especially in a small tank. The maroons will get pretty big and are very aggressive. The ocellaris don't stand a chance. They may be fine now but in the future the maroons will kill the ocellaris and potentially the other fish.

Thankyou for the advice I've been reading a little into the maroon clown and there aggression. already am choosing to return them. Just got to find the free time to take them back to the lfs.

Starting to work on the canopy got the frame work done and hopefully will be finishing it up this week sometime

Been a while sense I have updated. Prepping for my daughter to be born hopefully this week fingers crossed but. Back to the tank though changed the rock work to open the tank up more and make more caves and crevasses for the fish to swim and hide. Traded in the two maroons I had for a green carpet anemone a few weeks ago. picked up a yellow tang and a kole tang as well they are looking good the yellow tang eats of the clip but the kole dose not even care about it but does graze all day on the rocks. As well as I finished my canopy. Might add some bordering tiles to it later after I see how it will look.

Very nice. 40b are nice. My system is very similar mechanically. :-)

What brand model of led is that?
It's one of those chinese 120 watt led lights. I think it's ocean revive but not 100 percent sure. I'm thinking on on getting another one or go ahead and get a marsaqua 300 watt to get better coverage

Nice! I'm planning the same build but you're ahead of me. I'll be following!
