If he adds it last, it should be fine
That is what I thought. I added the dottyback after the firefish. It made no difference. It only took three days before the dottyback did that.
So there shouldn’t be too much aggression as long as I add them at the same time correct? Or do you recommend a pair or trio of flashers instead of a flasher and Christmas?
If you mean a male and female pair of flashers, I would not recommend that. Two different flashers would be ok. There shouldn’t be much aggression as long as they are added together and you watch closely.
Also, a flame back is not the same thing as a flame angel.

NO!! Please don’t get a neon dottyback. They are horrible creatures, and their sole intent is to cause pain and suffering. If you have to have one though, don’t get a dart fish. I made that mistake...

I know he is and while I have him separated I have debated returning him but he is so pretty. He kills anything new I add to the tank though.

My coral angel beauty hasn't nipped (or observed nipping at) any of my corals... That being said, I might have just lucked out or havn't seen him do it.

Why would that not be okay? As long as it is two females to one male wouldn’t that be okay? I thought you should not have two males of the same species of wrasse

Would a radiant and a flame wrasse or a flasher wrasse work? Or a radiant and a Christmas?

Radiant, as long as it's H. iridis, would probably be okay if you have sand. It's on the small side though.

Flame wrasse needs more room. Pretty fish though. For fairies, I would do a lubbock or yellow fin.

Christmas is another option, like Radiant. Make sure it's H. claudia, as there are a few wrasses with that common name.

I wouldn't risk two Halichoeres (radiant and christmas) in a 40 breeder though. Pick one, and add a small fairy. Hopefully that makes sense.

Thanks so much for your help. Last questions. The first is if I have plenty of live rock and a quality oversized skimmer do I even need a hob filter to put bio media in? I understand I might need to run carbon, but is there a need to run bio media? Lastly, if I go with a radiant or Christmas, could I add a flasher instead of a fairy? I like them a little more than the small fairy’s

That's a bit of a philosophical question. I don't think most folks run filters, in the traditional sense. With enough rock, you shouldn't need bio media, if I am understanding you correctly. Lots of folks do use carbon. It's a good safeguard.

40 breeder is probably okay for the common flashers, like carpenter's and mccosker's. I'm far from a flasher wrasse expert, however.

I flasher should be just fine. The only one I wouldn’t recommend for your tank is an eight line flasher.
