Still a work in progress. Have almost everything I need to put it together now. Pukani rock cure is almost finished. Still knocking around some ideas I have on how I'm going to set up my 20 gal. long DIY sump/refugium. I'll post more pics as I progress.

Thanks! I used a diamond hole saw bit. First time drilling glass, it was a breeze. Not sure of what all will be going in it yet. I know some of the livestock from my 7 gal nano. Mainly zoas, a Duncan that's growing fast, hammer that I split recently, and a favia rescued from petco....lol. And can't forget my Diamond Goby, he deserves a bigger home.

I'm using a Eshopps eclipse M overflow and Glassholes 3/4" return. Both came with diamond coated hole saw bits to drill the tank. My sump/refugium is going to be a 20 gal. Long with DCP 4000 return pump. Lights I will be using are 165 watt wifi black boxes with DIY brackets over the tank. This is a budget build so I am trying to use lower priced equipment that I know will work. Still researching power heads and wave makers for flow, and lighting for the refugium that is budget friendly. I will be putting live rock in the refugium and am looking for lighting that will be adequate for coraline and macro algae growth, may just use another chinese black box. As always I am interested in suggestions and input from everyone here.

Will be checking my rock today to see where it is in the curing process. Can't say enough about how happy I am with the quality job of picking and packaging of Pukani dry rock the BRS team did. Pukani dry definatly gives you a lot of bang for your buck. This was just a 25 lb order but looks like much more due to the rock being so porous and pretty clean.

Nice build thread bo0sted. I'm thinking about using the 20 long as mostly a refugium with return pump on one end with no skimmer or added equipment. Keeping it as simple as possible. I have plenty of time for doing water changes and cleaning.

Nice build thread bo0sted. I'm thinking about using the 20 long as mostly a refugium with return pump on one end with no skimmer or added equipment. Keeping it as simple as possible. I have plenty of time for doing water changes and cleaning.

Yeah that should be fine, I have a tough time keeping my nutrients above 0 while running both the skimmer and the refugium. I do like the skimmer for aerating the water while removing organics in the water and I like the refugium to help keep a happy pod population and watching it grow is cool too. I couldn't choose between the two so I have both!

The filter sock holder is my favorite part though, not having to dunk it under the water to get it off the drain pipe makes it so much easier and efficient to change them out.

After looking at your build thread I'm thinking maybe I should have gone with the eclipse L and DCP 6000.

You should be fine, I am only running my return pump at 40%, and it powers my UV sterilizer too! and I got the large overflow so I can use it on my 75g I have sitting in storage when it's time [emoji6][emoji106]

Looks great! I have a 40 Breeder as well with a DIY stand and went with a 20-gallon high sump instead of the long to get more floor space under the stand. I have a similar pump but a little larger, The DCP-6500 and have it dialed way back. The 4000 should be a much better fit. Looking forward to following your build.

Looks great. Very nice work. I have the same setup for a frag tank. The problem I have and you may have also. Is the loc line allows water to drain back down into the sump causing it to overflow if the electricity is out too long. Be sure to check that.
