So I'm getting the eshopps psk-75 or reef octopus nwb-10.
Equipment list and other things getting. Need suggestions.
1) eshopps or reef octopus.
I would look at the aquamaxx co-1 or the vertex omega 130 both have great reviews and the build quality on the vertex is second to none. But your original option aren't bad either.
2) koralia w/wavemaker either 2x850 or 1050?
If you can swing it an mp40 (an mp10 would not give you enough flow for a 40b and mp40 would give you room to upgrade) or a jebao wp25
3)150w heater or 2 75 watt heaters?
It's always good to run dual heater for redundancy just in case one fails but you can get away with one for now.
4) 20-40lbs live sand/20-40lbs dry sand. (50/50)
I'd skip the live sand, I don't really buy into it but that's me. How much would depend on how deep you want to go and what you want to keep. Keep in mind those gobies can really make a mess of things and can end up burying corals on the sand bed.
5) 10-15lbs live rock enough?
My current tank I started with all dead rock and I'm glad I did, no unwanted pests or algaes.
6) 25-40lbs dry pukani rock.
I used as much rock as I needed to build the scape I was happy with. I don't believe in those per gallon rules.
7) diy canopy for par38 LEDs?
I don't think you'll end up being happy with par38s. You're not going to get good coverage and to get enough par38s to get good coverage you can just buy a fixture. I'd recommend looking at the ocean revive t247. It's got good features and a great price. I'd pick it over all the other inexpensive led options because of the heatsinks and timer and the fact that it's a good looking fixture helps too (if not using a canopy)
How's my list so far?
