Not sure what your plans are for coral, but Nicrew has decent lights and they won't break the bank. You can get them on Amazon and they'll ship to AK

running into issues. Over 2 weeks loss of five fish. My brothers 40 gal we set up all dry rock with live sand. Get mad but , we did a fish cycle with a damsel. Kept ammonia at .50 to 1.0 at highest. After ammonia and nitrite was gone we introduced a few cardinals to his tank and my 40 gal. That was where everything changed. 3 days brother lost his cardinals day after i lost one of mine. He tried a clown it did good for 4 to 5 days then took ill like bladder stuff not staying afloat laying on side. 30 hours later it was swimming again, 24 hours late dead overnight and I have now lost my other cardinal from the same group. Now this morning his damsel isn't looking good lethargic staying at bottom. All parameters are in order on all four of my tanks. Dead fish have no physical signs and never did show signs. Everything was eating. Feed mysis flakes algae blocks. Any ideas? And we don't have a local fish store to send in a water sample. Brothers tank is very new so new tank syndrome is a thought but again levels have stayed where we all want them for 3 weeks

Do you have any surface agitation? Also I would get rid of the glass lids.
Yes plenty of surface movement in display and sump. Tank has been running great for a few months. Brothers is finally out of new tank syndrome. Mine was fine besides a bad fish shipment at petco. Glass lid yes it was what I could afford at the time. Have a plexi on its way.

And have met and had great corals shipped by a few locations now. Aquasd always reliable with best price. Thirstysreef, if you want some of the best Acros you will ever see he is willing to ship to Alaska if you got the bread for his stuff. And Aqua dreams -Infinity reefs out of Connecticut, sent great hammers, frogspaw. Blasto and zoas. Has much more.

I also have a 40 gal breeder. I wanted to ask what equipment are you using for filtration. Tank looks great.

I'm kinda trying a natural way I think lol. I have a 48 gal Rubbermaid tote, with 40 lbs of rock and a 2 inch thick filter pad, run a Kind led grow light for algae and have snails and crabs in the sump to take care of the algae growth just vacuum out with water changes when needed. My brother runs 2 sicce sharks equal to 50 gal filter both of us do anywhere from a 10 to 20 % change a week. I can get away with longer of course.

My brother got his other AI prime, so I got his fluval. To soon to really tell but I think my corals like a second light. Dropped down to just about only blues now quick response from corals and so far in a good way.
