Will one MP 40 be enough flow for a 40 Gallon tank?

If so where would you place it? On the side or back?

How about two MP10's? One on each side in sync?

Two MP10 seems more practical since you can place one of each end instead of one MP40 on low speed not to create a sandstorm at one end but not enough current to get a good overall flow on the other. The price of 2 MP10 is about not much more than 1 MP40.

Now if the tank is SPS dominated would I have an issue with flow? I would think not, am I correct?

I have a 40 breeder and one MP10 is PLENTY for that tank. 2 would be ok if you ran them on 50-60 percent.

Flow is good for SPS but I think you want a more even distributed flow throughout the tank instead of one high flow at an end. That would cause a sandstorm or knock or even rip the flesh off a frag so you can get the same flow on the oppisite end of the tank.

Thanks everyone now to find the equipment. I am hoping to get it used. Anyone have two MP10's for sale?
