40 Gallon Breeder Aqueon Tanks

Just curious to see if anyone has any feedback on the aqueon 40 gallon breeder tanks Petco sell. I wanted to pick one up at their next $1 per gallon sale.. Anyone have any good or bad experiences with them? Any feedback would be great! Thanks in advanced!

They are used in great volume, from displays to sumps to QT to hospital tanks, to just about anything. Do you have a particular concern?

Thanks for the reply dbl! And yeah the only concern I had was I was looking at the deep blue tanks and they seem to have thicker glass and cross bars at the center (top and bottom). The aqueons only have the frames with no cross bracing.

Agreed...there may be "nicer looking" displays, but for $40 bucks they're kind of hard to beat.

My first tank was a aqueon 40b that I bought at the dollar per gallon pet I sale and had zero issues for 3 years until I went larger

I have 2 of the 40Bs and have not had any issues with either. One is a sump and the other was used to house some small turtles and FW fish but it is now waiting to become another SW tank. The only issue I have with them is the silicone is not as neat as the more expensive tanks but that is pretty minor if you can select the best tank out of a few.

Thanks for the replys guys! I ended up picking one up yesterday. I may go back to get a 20l for a sump..
