40 Gallon Breeder Build- My First Build

I have the Orbit Marine USA. Please excuse how nasty the tank looks now, going through an algae bloom (Cyano, Diatom). I also just introduced some corals and have salt everywhere.

Oh there are so many options with this light, you can even have weather for a natural touch. It gets very bright and you can adjust everything with a controller.

If those are your two options i would go with the marine orbit. You would need two kessils to cover the entire tank. In my build I use a ocean revive t247

How do you like it? can i see a picture if you don't mind. I did come across this light

I like it a lot, I think it's great for the price. Can control the blue and the full spectrum intensities and it has a timer. I used to have a t5 fixture but replacing the bulbs is expensive.

My tank under OR

wow thats nice, i was thinking going apex but right now my funds aren't ready for the apex lol so now its between the light you have or the orbit marine, when designing this system i was going with current usa loop setup but they still haven't came out with the bluetooth function where you control everything from your phone. The Orbit marine does have a remote. At the end of the day i want my corals to be healthy .

I had the orbit marines and went with the Hydra 26 hd's and my tank really took off;)

IMO... Definitely go with the Orbit. I've had the Orbit and the Orbit PRO and they are more than capable of supporting soft corals. Plus it's comes with the controller. You can customize everything for each channel separately (one blue, one white) such as the min/max intensities, ramp duration, on/off, moonlight.

They are way underrated. I only upgraded cause I got a new light for my birthday.

Nice start mrsalnj! welcome to the 40 breeder club :) Mine is in roughly the same stage as your tank. As far as lighting I'm not too familiar with the lights you are looking at. I am currently using a Rapidled diy dimmable kit and I cant really give any feedback on it because I don't have any corals in my tank yet but the coverage seems to be good. Keep up the great work!

So this is not progress on my tank but just got back from vacation and went scuba diving just want to share some pictures i took all of the reef 2 reef community will love them.
