would this be enough filtration for a sumpless 40 gallon breeder

it should be okay depending on stocking however I would recommend adding more biological media if possible, perhaps in the refugium. I would however recommend looking at a better protein skimmer, that one is used in many aqua one tanks stock and quickly gets replaced as it can lose its tuning frequently and is awkward to take the cup off.
