40 Gallon Breeder Project

I have about 10 acans that are showing skeleton, so I have went to hand feeding them daily to help the cause. Really hoping I can bring them back.

All water specs are in range, I think by not feeding the tank due to trying to keep nutrients down to eradicate the algae, I also hurt my acans. It also didn't help with the algae also growing on them.

Sucks to hear your troubles D hope you manage to bring those acans back buddy

So far, all but 2 acans are eating when I spot feed. I checked all my parameters last night and everything was good. 8.5 dkh, 420 Ca, .05 Po3, 8.2 pH, 1.026 Salinity. The algae doesn't seem to be coming back this time. I have a shipment from reef cleaners coming in today. I think that should help the cause. One thing concerning to me was my Nitrates. 0. I don't have any fish right now, so I know that would help, but my 20 gallon has a Snowflake, six line, and Bistletooth Tang and my nitrates were 0 in that tank as well. I definitely feed enough. Oh and I having done a water change in a month on the 20. Should I be concerned. Also as a reference my 7.5g cube had 40 nitrates, so I know the teat kit is good.

Get a fish or 2 in there asap! You need that balance to help your corals and the system as a whole.

I received my reef cleaners order today. Within 4 hours, they really did a number on the algae on my rock.

Dowtish - I'm planning on picking up some fish this weekend. Thanks.

He told me when he got it what he gave for it, and I told him when I had mine before it perished, that I'd give him a good deal before he got his. Lol
