I recently got a 40 gallon breeder for my birthday and I'm going to make it a reef tank. I posted a thread with no replies as of yet....my question is this, it's a standard 40 breeder and I currently have 2 taotronics 110 watt dimmable led fixtures on my 55. Would it be better to run both fixtures on the 40 or is one sufficient? I'm thinking two is obviously better than one and I already have two so do that, but I'm wondering if it would be to much light...

I will be running a 20 gallon sump which I will compartment off for skimmer, reactor pump and return pump....if room, I will use a portion of it for r/o auto top off.

Yeah if it's a fish only tank one is good but if your trying to do coral best with 2 fixtures I'm running 2 on my 40breeder

I do not know the fixture, what are it's dimensions? Unless it is both long and deep two will probably be required. As stated earlier if they are dimmable then you should not have any issues.

It's about 18x11....I was thinking use both but wasn't sure. It will be a reef tank so I guess more is better in that regard especially beings how there's a clam, anemones, coral and the likes in it.

So does anyone have some set ups they can share of their 40 breeders? I have had my 55 set up for over a year and I'm moving it to this 40 so I of course doing this a lot different on this set up....to include a reef keeper lite. :-) I will be running bare bottom to eliminate detritus buildup and have lots of flow. Instead of plain glass I have some starboard ordered for the bottom of the tank for the aquascape to set on. I want a center over flow instead of a corner but someone tried to convince me I should use a corner one? Any thoughts?
