Does anyone know of a reliable company that sells 40 gallon breeder stands? I want to upgrade my 20L to a 40 breeder but I am having a hard time finding a stand. I don’t feel comfortable enough to make my own so want one from a reliable manufacturer.

Thank you. I am trying to find more of a cabinet style stand but if I can’t this will be what I will go with. Thank you for pointing it out to me.

I bought the Brooklyn stand for my 29 gal and am thinking of getting a 40 gal when Petco has their next $1 sale. Did you decide on a cabinet? Ideally, I would like to find a white one with doors.

I use the Brooklyn metal stand that petco sells. It’s very study so far (1 year) for its price of $50.
Did you have any qualms about the way it is built with the center supports for the 40 gal? A review on Petco's website is critical of the supports hanging from inside the beams rather than being built to hang from the top of them.

I haven’t had any issues yet. I would get something more heavy duty if you plan to have it set up for a long time. I only plan to have mine set up a few years before I move.

I am also looking at used furniture on Craigslist. Can you paint that cabinet white and send some pictures of it open? Will it hold a 20 gallon Aqueon which is 30 inches wide?

What makes you say that? I have this, and it seems sturdy enough to last a very long time.

I also added curtains to be able to hide my ATO reservoir and other stuff beneath it.

He may be saying that because of the review on Petco about the center top bars and how they were made. Can you send a picture of your curtains?

Not the cleanest thing in the world, but it works just fine. I used magnets to attach it to the frame, and a few more magnets to keep the curtains closed.

I'm eventually going to be setting up a DIY AIO 40 breeder and I'm kind of over the whole pre-fab stand thing myself - and I really don't trust my skills in making something different / nice / sturdy.

Anyway - we still have our daughter's changing table / dresser that's in excellent shape (she's 16 now), but it's a mahogany / cherry color, which doesn't match our decor at all - which actually makes it look like it fits in that way. All solid wood, built heavy duty. It took some time but I convinced my wife to let me use it for a stand. It's the perfect size - 18-1/2" wide x 48" long. It has 3 drawers on the left side and a small cabinet on the right side. It's going to be sumpless so I'll just put a top-off container in the cabinet area.
