40 gallon breeder stocking?

I have cycled my 40 gallon breeder and am trying to figure out how much fish I can stock. I have about 50lbs live rock and live sand. I have a BH 1000 protein skimmer and a refugium with Chaeto.
What are good stocking options for my tank?

Depends on what kind of fish you want to stock and how you've arranged your rocks, how much fish real estate there is. Post some photos of your tank? You should browse Live Aquaria's website and see what you like. The recommended minimum tank sizes are pretty spot on IME.

Most wrasses won’t work, most Pygmy angels won’t work imo, no tangs,
But you can have!
Clowns
Gobys
Damsels
Grammas
Pygmy geometric hawkfish are cool
Firefish

I’m sure there’s more options but there is some things to search to find a species you like. Clowns and damsels are in the same family so they may fight if the tank is over crowded. I have 5 juvenile occelaris clowns In mine and two Rolland’s damsels, no issues yet, but we will see.
