40 gallon stocking ideas

Just started in reefing my cycle is almost compete so figured I would get some advice on my stocking list.
Here's the list and order I would add in
Purple firefish
Royal grama
Cleaner shrimp
2 clowns (possibly designer)
Emerald crab?
Hi fin goby pistol shrimp pair
Open to ideas or changes only things really set on are a pistol shrimp goby pair and the cleaner shrimp.

Good list of peaceful fish.

I always have shrimp/ goby pairs, an absolute must for me.

Consider a pair of gobies to go along with you pistol shrimp.

Also, I would recommend a candy cane pistol w red band gobies. It is a much smaller shrimp than a tiger pistol.

Yes sorry forgot to add. Probably going in after the firefish. Thinking 2 hermits. 2 trochus snails, and 2 narsureas snails. Would like a urchin but probably won't work in this tank.

So two gobies paired rather than just the one for the shrimp? I thought gobies did better by themselves? I'm new so I could be wrong.

That should work. Just be aware that firefish can be super skittish and may spend more time hiding than you like. I would put in the clean up crew before the fish, once you get a diatom food they have a food source.

A firefish should be pretty outgoing with that stocklist.

My purple firefish cruises my whole tank and is always out. I have 20 fish, all peaceful

Thinking one fish first before CUC is I have no alage since the light has been off so there's nothing really for them to eat.
Instead of a firefish what would you recommend?
