40 Gallon stocking list

[DD Corals]

I currently have a 40-gallon with 2 clownfish and I feel like my fishtank is missing fish because my clownfish like to hide in the back of the fishtank all day unless I feed them. Any suggestions on what fish I could get? I was thinking of adding one or a couple of the fish.


Six line wrasse
2 blue green chromis
Royal gramma
Firefish
Yellow watchman goby

Why is my angel looking like this.

I don’t know what It going on. Do any of you? There are spots that used to be blue that are now gray. His forehead is also grey. Sorry the picture is bad.

substitute the 6line for a pygmy wrasse or a yellow coris wrasse. everything else is solid.could even ditch the 2 chromis and get an additional fire fish and a court jester goby

maybe a few anthias. mine are always out and about and are nice "busy" fish.

or a springeri damsel would be another good choice.

The Royal Gramma will be fine, but they can also get a little territorial with other fish around their caves.

Out of all those fish, what fish do you think will be the most active? Like one that will come out often to the front of the fishtank.

I love Halichoeres wrasses. Yellow or a Christmas (Halichoeres Claudia) would work in a 40. If you can find a starki damsel, that would be great too. They kind of look like a Pygmy angel but are coral safe. They are reportedly “nice” damsels as well.

What kind of Anthias would they be? I just looked up anthias and I found a bunch of different types of anthias. Also would I even be able to have anthias in my 40 gallon fishtank?

I might skip the chromis, no reason beyond my preference, but they would likely be out and about. a hawk fish might be cool. Mine is always out and about. there are a lot of options, and more opinions.
The clowns likely just found a home and will stay mostly there.
Simply having more fish will help the shy ones come out more. It's a "hide from danger" thing. Mollies aren't afraid to be in the open, and they will graze on algae. I can't wait to get my valentini puffer out of QT and into the display.
