My fiancé wants to add more fish to her 40 GB but I’m thinking that it’s already stocked enough.
At the moment she has one midsized mocha clownfish and one baby mocha, one purple firefish, 1 zebra dart fish, 1 possum wrasse, 1 clown goby, one lawnmower blenny, a mandarin goby and 2 pajama cardinals. For invertebrates, she had a sea cucumber, pencil sea urchin,1 porcelain crab, about 10 nassaurus snails, 2 turbos, 4 hermits, one tiger conch, 1 cleaner shrimp and one bubble tip nem, a haitian nem and a mini maxima carpet nem.
She was thinking of adding a two spot goby or a yasha shrimp goby.
She has a handful of corals as well.
The tank is 7 months old.
Her set up is attached.

You could add a few more small fish however a two spot goby is not be the best choice due to how they starve without a deep, well aged sand bed. Considering you don’t have any blennies, maybe a Two Spot Blenny, Escenius bimaculatus will fit.
Here’s a photo from ultimate reef, I’m sure she’ll fall in love with this as this species is adorable.

Mandarin in that size tank is going to risk starving without lots of supplemental foods. Any other fish will only increase this problem.
I’d stick where you are and instead look into adding more corals.
