Hi is $400 +shipping a good price on a 4.5 inch bandit angelfish?

... whenever i see Apolemichthys arcuatus Bandit Angelfish posted on Diver's Den over at LiveAquaria, typically they are asking around $1,600.00 USD for about 4" specimens. Those are typically from Hawaii.

Yes but LA is way overpriced for specialty fish

So..... $1,200 overpriced? If it were a $200 fish, how much would LA sell it for?

A local shop wants $2,800 for a Gem. There was a topic here where an online shop had them for $500 free shipping, and LA had them for 1,500 or so.....

If you have seen them (I know nothing about the fish you are asking about) for around $500-$1k anywhere else, then yes, $400 is a good price. If you see them for less than $300, then no..... and if they are 4-$500 a lot of places.... “fair”

But in the end it’s what it is worth to you that matters

Just got my Gem tang for $425 shipped this morning, prices fluctuate a lot on the rare stuff you used to be able to get Bandits for under $300 though most of them died quickly as well.

I would be surprised to see one that cheap
