400w Meatl Halide

How far should 400 watt metal halide reflectors be away from the water?They are Lumenarc reflectors.Also how do I keep from sending the coral into shock or will there not be be a problem?I am going from t5 to 400 watt MH.Thanks

maybe someone else will chime in with exact numbers, but i would think you'd want to start with them around 20" inches off the water and then lower them over time as your corals adapt. alot of it depends on what your keeping and their placement as well as the depth of the tank.

It is a 125 gallon tank 24 inchs deep.I am keeping mostly SPS but I do have some zoa and acans in the bottom of the tank.Thanks

I run my 400 watts Lrg Lumenarc 12 inches from water

my 300 is 24 inches deep
