I am planning a 40b build. At one time I had 2ea 90g, 1ea 40B and a 92g corner tank all running but sold the house an downsized so I now have a JBJ 28HQI but the all-in-one is very limiting so I want to get back to a full tank with sump.

I still have some hardware left over from the 90g tanks so I want to try to use my Blueline 55 external pump. Its rated at 1100gph and I am not sure what I can run through a 40B. I will divert some return to use for my reactors but was wondering if that would still be too much.

Looking at probably going with the ghost overflow and since I am not sure of the flow - prob 1200gph setup.

Thoughts?

What you'll want to do it tee off the return line and bring that pipe back into the sump where there's a valve on that line. Here's what I did (with an internal pump) and out of view to the right is a valve.

I was thinking same thing. Last 90 I had was running return pumo, and another pump for reactors. I figured with a manifold I would have enough flow for all of them off this pumo plus 2ea 3/4 returns (one on each side of the drain - thinking of ghost overflow)
