Looking to setup a 40b frag tank. Looking to drill for peninsula style, anyone have a preference for overflow box? I use an Exotic Marine for my display but that’s way too big. Also going to try a t5 hybrid for lighting. Looking to run 2 xr15 blues but don’t know much about t5’s. Which bulbs (4) and order should I choose? Also considering drilling returns on opposite end of overflow box, and running power heads on same end as overflow. Any pro’s or cons to this method?

40 breeders make great frag tanks and custom sumps. I have made both over the years.
I would silicon in acrylic baffles for overflow, drill the holes and be done with it.
You can purchase small acrylic sheet from Lowes and they will cut acrylic to whatever size you need.
Just make sure you use correct silicone, no additives. Some silicone comes with mold resistant additives, etc. can’t use those types.
Aqueon makes silicone you can purchase online. I’m sure others do also.
My sump is over 10 years old, silicone and baffles still holding strong. Same with 40 breeder frag tank.
If you want to do slots at the top of the baffles, you can flip the saw blade around on a table saw or circular saw and cut slots in the acrylic.
I didn’t cut any slots for my frag tank, just not needed. Overflow works fine.
