So I am currently running a reef breeder V1 photon 24" with T5 supplement (1 blue+ and 1 coral+). I am looking to upgrade my led for a couple reasons but mostly because everytime the power goes out I lose my settings ;Rage;Rage;Rage;Rage;Punch;Punch;Punch. I need to be able to keep my anemones, acro, pocclipora, stylo, and monti happy

The options I have been considering in order

1) 2 Ai primes strong enough with the T5 supplement?
2) reef breeders Photon V2 36" or 24" recommendations?
3) Full T5 setup 36" ATI fixture 4 or 6 bulb?

What are the other reasons why do you want to upgrade?
Do YOU prefer to go with all T5s or LED/ T5s?
What's the measurements of the tank?
Grandis.

The measurements of the tank is 36"x18"x16"

I like the T5 led combo I got some really good color out of my corals when I added the T5s

I would like to upgrade because it is an old fixture a couple of the diodes are pretty dim and I think that this light in holding my corals back as far as growth.

Also it isn't very appealing to the eyes and as stated before, losing its settings every time the power drops out.

Ok, once you want to upgrade with LED/T5s we should now wait for the friends here with their LED suggestions..
Grandis.

My self , I would miss the ramp and the extended daylight viewing time of the led and the pop.
You need to figure out your par now , but a six tube would be what I'd reccomend for t5 on that tank.
If you still want some shimmer and pop, look at the sbreeflight s bars. Or the ati hybred is pretty sweet, but also pretty $$$$$.

Imo. Avoid t5 dimmables.

I have a xr30 pro gen4 and its a very powerful light at 9 inches above the tank I have turned way down to 35% overall intensity I have a 40g gallon cube the 16 inches tall. one thing id like to add to it is some t5 supplementation it would be a great combo.

There's a lot of neat hybred coming out now that are much more balanced. The mistake a lot of folks make is it knowing the par or lux of the light.
Ya throw a Radion down at full at 14 in it's like 600 par at the top Then they add a couple t5 and it's like adding 30 or 40 par. Similar to folks. Who don't use the white channel. The white is usually about 10,000 kelvin. That's the color of the the sky.

I am going to look into a seneye to get a baseline for my current par.

I think I am going to stay with Led/T5 combo I am thinking about going with 2 or 3 Ai prime HD but that is the same price as a reef breeders V2 and I have heard good things about that fixture

anyone using either of these that can weigh in with some experiences?

I haven't. The par on them IS lower then the photons though. IMO a pretty good choice for a hybred. Kessil a too, if you prefer their color.

If you dont have a canopy that new Aquaticlife T5 hybrid solution would be a solid choice. Gives you 4 bulbs plus the abolity to seemlesly drop in most of the popular led fixtures keeping a clean look. Best of both worlds really.
Good call.
Figure a good fixture ballast combo will give about 150 par at 12 in. The ai ??350??

ATI dimmable 6 bulb with a sBar actinic in the front for pop. make it a t5/led hybrid, not a led/t5 lol
be able to place coral anywhere you please.
