Been out of the hobby for probably close to a decade at this point. A buddy of mine gave me his running sumped 20l covered in algae a few months ago and it’s become quite a nice tank (especially considering it has moved twice since I got it). With that said, now I’ve got a 40b and a 20l for a sump in the garage. I got bit hard.

I’m looking for ways to overflow into a 20l. First priority is quality, second is aesthetics (I will not settle for water line under top frame), third is hoping to run a 3 drain set up.

The tank may or may not be a peninsula.

What’s out there?

Welcome to reef2reef. I use an eshopps m ghost overflow(herbie) on mine. The water level is just barely above the trim line. Good quality, I’m happy with it.

Welcome back and to the community
Most sumps such as skimz model 22 sump will take of your needs as described.

Thanks for the info! I’ll look into it! Really hoping I can find a 3 drain setup hopefully someone can chime in.

Get yourself a Modular marine ghost style overflow...

The 1200 gph overflow is set up for 3/4” plumbing using uniseals. I had mine upgraded to 1” plumbing using bulkheads. What’s also nice is that the MM’s external box is notched to accommodate the trim on rimmed tanks so that the waterline is hidden by the tank trim.

Here it is installed on my tank, which is a 57 gallon rimless. It has the same footprint as a 40 breeder at 36x18.
