Im sure people are sick of these threads but I could use some help. I am in the process of upgrading from a basic 10g setup to a more advanced 40B setup that I hope to do an SPS dominant reef and a clam and anemone. So far my tank is cycled and I have transferred over my 2 small o. clowns and 1 yellow watchman goby as well as 10 astrea snails that i just purchased. I could use some help with stocking suggestions.

Equipment:
40B aqueon petco tank drilled with a 20H diy baffled 3 section sump with 1 filter sock
30lb reef cleaner dry rock and caribsea fiji pink
Maxspect Razor 16k
Maxspect gyre 130
Bubble Magus Curve 5 skimmer
BRS dual reactor with gfo and carbon
Fuge with miracle mud and caulerpa lit 24/7
Tunze osmolator
Jaebo dct 4000 return pump

My proposed fish are the following:
2 o clowns (already in tank)
1 yellow watchman goby (already in tank)
- six line wrasse
- tailspot blenny
- jawfish (will i need lid?)
- royal gramma
- cardinal (i am plus or minus on this one)

is 8 fish too many? any suggestions on other things to consider? Will these all be compatible?

Thanks so much for your help!

You definitely need a lid for a jawfish, and ditto on skipping the 6 line.

I think a 6 line would be ok as long as it's the last one added. Make sure you provide plenty of hiding spots for it.

A jaw fish would be tougher in a 40b. You would need a decently deep sandbed for it and that will eat up a lot of room in a 40b.

Yeah I'm sorry that's my bad. I thought they may be ok because they was dif. species. I looked on live aquaria at the comparability chart they say no. I'm sorry. But you can go on there and look at there chart to see what will work together.

You could get a watchman goby/pistol shrimp pair, but you will still need a lid for those.

Mine jumped. . Fortunately, he ended up in the overflow, but he was definitely a jumper. My friend with an uncovered tank actually lost hers to jumping a week ago.

Looks OK to me. They are all small fish. I would lose the six line. They become bullies as they mature. Mine about killed my clownfish.
Mine made 2 clownfish carpet surf on back to back nights. I had to get a bigger wrasse to occupy his time
