40B water movement - need help

Had/have an icecap 3K on it only at 10% due to it being to much for a 40 gallon (not running on the tank as of today)

have a hygger eco-slim wave maker. Good random flow patterns- torches and the various LPS look good - it’s just so loud

got any ideas for a better wavemaker or how to quiet down the Hygger?

IMHO it's a matter of hit and miss. You'll probably have better luck with more expensive wavemakers and a higher chance of noise and/or early failure with cheaper wavemakers. I buy mine on the slightly cheaper side and just plan on replacing them when they fail in a couple of years. Even the most expensive ones occasionally have issues like noise.
