Currently I have a 3 inch Yellow Fin Fairy Wrasse, 3 inch OC Clown and a 2 inch OC Clown. Before I added the bigger Clown I had the Wrasse and tried to add a Carpenters Wrasse, the Yellow Fin killed it. Then I added the bigger Clown, no issues there. Then tonight I added the smaller Clown and a Firefish. Well the 2 Clowns immediately buddied up, shaking and twitching and all establishing dominance. Worked out well so far. But the poor Firefish was killed by the bigger clown. Plenty of hiding places but the Firefish opted to stay in the open. What other small fish can hold their own against these 2 bullies? Royal Gramma, Neon Dottyback? The wife says she wants something yellow. I’m looking to add only 2 more fish.

A yellow assessor comes to mind, a very cool little fish. A 40b is really a tight space to get too much aggression going. Maybe a yellow watchman goby, or another rock dwelling, lower tank dwelling fish. A tail spot blenny may add to that mix.
