40g breeder lighting help

well, I got Red bugs :waaaht: and I'm going to set up a QT tank for my acro's.(40g breeder) basically all I need to know is..... Will a 36" 4x T5 ho fixture be enough for the acro's or do I need to step up to a 6x T5 fixture or something?? also would it make a difference if I bought a 4x 54w 48" fixture? (I could put it on my dads tank after the QT...)

4x39watt T5HO is plenty if its a tek elite or ati sunpower/powermodule. Use good bulbs, like ATI or KZ.

I have a 4 bulb tek fixture over my 40r and that's the light I need. I've had 250w MH (DE) and for a time I even had 2 250w MH (DE) on my tank, I prefer my 4 bulb to everything else I've tried
