40g Tank Build

Hello everyone I’m building a 40 gallon tank and if anyone wants to keep up with the progress I will be posting it on here. Any ideas for the stocking? I want this to be a nice display tank along side my 60 gallon freshwater discus tank in my room. I want some colorful fish if possible. I am planning to either drill the tank or use a overflow box to fun down to the sump. I am trying to decide either to buy a 45 gallon tank and stand or make a 40 gallon tank and just buy a stand, what would you recommend? Hopefully this will be fun! Going to have to be consistent with work now to be able to afford this project!

Good luck, you should look for a used setup in your local area you can save some money that way.
