45 gallon tall filtration ideas

I'm setting up a 45 gallon tall aquarium. Whats a good filter to use HOB or canister?

The rock is pretty much all you need IMO. You can add a HOB filter or a canister, (with different types of media) but these might not be needed as well. Keep it simple. GL.
