45g Renaissance tank

my live rock is around 10 years old and has gone through several adventures.
as I no longer have access to new real live rock. (Canada)
I'm going to start distributing "life source" from aquaforest.

I’m going through something similar and your post gives me hope.

I just captured my flame hawkfish with my home made trap.

I was surprised more than him!
it's a trap cat GIF

I was at LFS today!
having known before I would have bought some shrimp!
hey oh! What exactly am I complaining about?! :zany-face:

It's still funny and interesting ... .. ...
On one side I have the DT that I preferably need to not light too strong and quickly.
because if I do the CUC is overwhelmed... (im working on it)
and
on the other hand the 14gallons connect to the system
that I boldly blast !! no CUC... only POD!
the stones stay super clean.

if I look at it coldly.
the problem is that I have fish in the DT!! :beaming-face-with-smiling-eyes:

in fuge (14g) : strong light & no fish = pod = clean rock.
In DT : medium light & fish = no pod = green rock.

I don't have a PAR meter but basically my SPS lose color in DT and regain color in the fuge...

funny hobby.

Need to work on my "PAR" Without a meter...
I'm surely on the low side...
A8's (G5pro friend) at 2inch of water/tilt to the back and 2X 24ich T5.

now im at :
Peek for 2hrs 08,28,02,02,40,28
And 1hrs of 2x T5 in peek.

They definitely need / can take more light !
Will try this first and see.
20,80,20,20,80,80.
1000003426.jpg

I also decided to add the others 2 sps i got.
I was working on their color in the refugium (more light there)
(the green became totally white in dt and the miyagi pale brown).
anyway, at least i know them a little better after these tests. (Months)
The myagui broke when I cut the plug...

any comments welcome! :beaming-face-with-smiling-eyes:

I think i should take a pill and chill a little...
I decide to go 10% white, red, green instead of 20%
and keep the blue at 80%.

Almost there i think... i crankup the light...
Starting to see green on the forest fire... and others coral have good reaction too.
Sand look ok (clean) and diamonds goby gain some weight (more to eat).

Next step, i will probably extend the 5%/60% (+2hrs) or the 10%/80%...
Not sure :thinking-face:

Look like I got some dino again on sand on some rock.
What i did/change before the out break.

Less likely:
Ad some mgso4 in ato to make mg in the 1350ppm.
Ad some iodine seachem in AFR mix (1ml in 250ml AFR)
i dose 7-8ml/day.

My Uv was "kind of old"... that could be part of the reason.

Diamond goby loosing weight, he doesn't sift the sand where dino are.

-Dino not "slim branching"
-losing color at night.

what i do for now.
Change uv.
Will try 2 day blackout.
Dose 1ml VSV by night.

On verra bien...
