picked up a 47 gallon column tank from my lfs with stand for $220 seemed like a good deal and fit a corner in my apartment perfectly so i picked it up. I am wanting to do some easy corals im not new to saltwater but will be to reefing any recommendations on lighting what corals and what tank inhabitants ? it houses two maroon clown juvenils right now so i possibly may be keeping only them in the tank anyways unless any of you know a good maroon clownfish tank mate for a tall tank, the rock structure i have is roughly 50 pounds like a mountain with arches etc so the clowns have already got there territory down and all that good stuff, really dont mind keeping just them anyways there a little special in the head they got stuck together in the bag at the petco i got them from ( yeah i know petco but they were $20 each seemed very very healthy and still are and I QT them) so i only got charged for one lol. with a column tank i know im going to need a far better light than i normally would so recommendations on that and some wavy fast growing easy corals would be good aswell as just any tips you guys have for a newer reefer. the tank is running two sponge filters rated for 55 gallons each and im running a uv sterilizer meant for a 100 gallon tank, and another recommendation while we are here should i make shift a sump for this tank it is not drilled or anything or would a hob skimmer be enough? also have enough bio media for a 100 gallon tank inside the sponge filters aswell forgot to mention that earlier.

I WOULD RECOMMEND ANY OF THE NOOPSYCHLIGHTS sry caps lock
for an easy wavy coral I would recommend pulsing xenias
what r ur tank dimensions?
20 3⁄16 x 18 3⁄16 x 30 13⁄16 also do you know if indian mud morays go good with maroon clownfish or will one hurt the other? i seem to have the most docile mud moray ive ever heard of the dude shares a cave with a damsel and a arrow crab and they all just chill together all day was thinking of moving him into that tank so my future puffers dont take a nip out of him since he is so nice

also get some flow pointed and the water surface for oxygenation
the sponge filters are the sera tube ones i had never seen them before but they are sweet i love em ill link you to them here https://www.petco.com/shop/en/petco...JrllYcANWrIGHcSoeWwaAqFxEALw_wcB&gclsrc=aw.ds and my uv also falls into the water like a tap spout does so i have three things causing a ton of surface agitation already but im going to get a small power head for flow for the corals

I would recommend some soft corals first, gsp (great movement), mushrooms ( ricordea are great), leathers ( I have a beautiful sinularia, sways with the flow) and zoas. I put both gsp and zoas on a rock island so they don’t spread over the main rock. Once you have mastered the softies you can move up to LPS, torches, frogspawn, hammers, duncans, candy can, etc. Be patient and go slow. Good luck.

also don't feel bad about shopping @ Petco, I do to. only because all the good lfs are 45+ minutes away
I mean it’s a double edged sword really the guy at my petco that deals with the saltwater fish has dedicated one of two of the tank towers to put fish with oblivious signs of illness into and the other tower he puts the healthy fish into so respect to him for that but I kinda see it as like if I buy a fish I can atleast try and cure it of disease and save it’s life but I’m also raising the demand for more of that exact fish to be bought by petco
