48 Giesemann spectra w/ballast

The electric company typically charges per kilowatt hours. So by knowing the watts you are using it should be easy. I have been using a 60" ATI Hybrid for the past 4-5 months and really didn't see a considerable difference and that over 1000 watts. It all depends on how long you run it. And I would say 8 hours would be more than sufficient.

Sorry boys, couldn't let this one sit here any longer... Money has been sent. Super excited to get this over my tank.

Just so everyone know. I have been speaking to him since he posted the light for sale. I have been texting him and told him I would send him the money on Saturday once I sold my Orpheks. He was ok with it and said he would contact me on Saturday. I texted him this afternoon asked if he wanted a deposit. He said that it would be best so he could post it as pending. I immediately sent him a deposit and confirmed with him. Now I saw a posting that it was purchased. I then noticed he sent me my deposit back but not even a text. I then texted him but no response. No integrity at all. Saddens me to see that some people are in the hobby for the money and nothing else. Once you give your work. Stick by it. Period! Hope you enjoy the light re76 it's an awesome light. Good luck with it. Can't say same about seller.

Thanks

If it makes you feel any better I know Bulk Reef Supply does a Black Friday Special on the lights and I know last year it was at 20% off. If you get 10 times reward points for the buy you roughly save an extra 10%.

Pretty messed up cause I had put a deposit first. That's cool if that is how he works.

I'm not standing up for the seller as I do not know him, but how do you know you your deposit got to him before the other buyer paid in full? It happens to me often, actually, when I'm selling goods on a forum. I'm in contact with several potential buyers and one says he's going to send me payment very soon... so I say cool. Literally a minute later another person sends me payment right before him. So the first guy thought he was the first person to pay, but in reality he wasn't. As far as him contacting you, I go hours in between being able to post or text... so it's not a matter of not responding, rather not being able to respond until I get off of work or done with my current project. I could be back-and-forth communicating with someone and then all of the sudden I go cold because I have to get back to work etc. Hopefully that's the case and he wasn't just an inconsiderate seller.

The reason I know was because I was texting him at the time. We were texting for about an hour. And if he did receive the money he should have had the decency to tell me he was going to send me my deposit. He had also told me he would hold it for me because I was first. Is that enough proof? Lol. I have it all on text, but no need to show it. He can't even show up on the forum and justify it.

Pretty shady way to do business exhibited by the seller. If you have a deposit and agreed on a final payment date, honor your word. If the date passes and the buyer doesn't make the final payment, then all bets are off IMO.

I agree. Listen he had no obligation to sell it to me. He could have said listen I changed my mind I'm going to give you your deposit back. But no just stopped texting me and that was it. Meanwhile he wanted me to send him the money as friends and told me to check his profile that he sold a lot on here. Which I think he has. But why mention that and then be shady. It's all good. Have a great weekend everyone.

Thanks for the ear.

I just got frustrated with it.

I know this is pretty old but are there any heat issues with these lights? I have heard that metal halide give off a lot of heat?

I have had zero issues with it. The fixture is built like a tank.

I think all metal halides are going to cause some heat. When I first installed the fixture I saw my tank temp spike up about 4-5 degrees, but nothing outrageous. I have since added some apex controlled fans in my overflow and it is essentially a non-issue now.
