Hi! This is my first post and I'm new to the site, so hello everyone:wink:. My 55 gal is 6 months old and I added some LPS corals and had no luck. My water pentameters are all spot on except my phosphates are slightly showing (tests done by local fish store employee) I have a fluval led marine and reef light sold to me by my LFS being told it would be enough to support the elaborate reef tank I one day hope to own. Is anybody familiar with this light or had luck maintaining corals and/or anemone with this partivlcular set up. This particular store had sold me a light that didn't support any photosynthesis leading me to believe I could maintain a reef ((news do your research before you buy is the best advice I can give)) when I learned they had taken advantage of me returned, gave them a piece if my mind :yell: and left with this light. Persally wasn't convinced but my bf was so- I turn to you fine folks for advice

i hate to say it but those lights are no good either.if i was you i would go to ebay and type in 120w led reef light you should be able to find twp 120w leds for around 180.00 shipped i think there called evergrow they will grow zoa, chalice, acans, monti and most other corals.sorry your lfs did you like that but now you know where not to spend your money at.hope this helps

I knew it... Thank you for your input. I'm probably going to end up just getting a t5 or metal halides depending on mount ability with my hood because I really want an anemone. The symbiotic relationships is my favorite part of the whole thing. What I don't get and what made me give in even with all my doubt is why it says reef and coral and how it supports coral growth bla bla bla... Good packaging caused my to doubt my suspicions, silly me

its not your fault you trusting a label its there fault for laying and your lfs for laying and not giving you the advice you needed.i would go with t5's less heat i have metal halides over my 125 long and heat is always a small problem plus you can have mix and matching the t5 bulbs but anemones do love halides.ati fixtures are the best when it comes to t5 there worth the money.

Yeah that light is terrible. I almost bought it when I started in the hobby over a year ago. Now I got a Kessil 350W LED and it grows everything I would want. You can definitely find some good LED's on Ebay for pretty cheap (under $300) for your tank.
